Although my story is similar to many others who have preceded me, in all respects, I represent the American Dream. In few other countries could a poor, brown-skinned kid grow up to become an attorney.
The John Marshall Law School has been instrumental in my story, and it helped make the impossible possible. Further, no other law school in the nation could have prepared me to succeed in my federal judicial clerkship and now as an associate at a global law firm.
Therefore, I give in reverence to those who have come before me. I give for all the poor boys and girls that will come after me, in hopes that they, too, will make their dreams a reality. I give because John Marshall has positively changed my life.
Simply put, I give because John Marshall has given so much to me!
