University Placement Offices Get Creative to Help Students—and Alums—Find Work

Ms. Hajek says the legal recession has transformed her job and her office. She’s focusing more on alumni who are trying to find work, spending less time on current students, and last September she hired a staffer whose sole function is to reach out to employers.
