She was recognized on Saturday, April 28, 2012, by The Illinois State Historical Society with a Certificate of Excellence Award for her regular Chicago Daily Law Bulletin column “Law and Public Issues.”

In addition, she will be honored by the Illinois Press Association at its conference in June for her column “How the U.S. Constitution Caused the Civil War” that also appeared in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin.
