Alexa Giralamo, a rising third-year student at UIC Law, co-wrote an article for JD Supra about the federal patent prosecution case In re Boloro Global Ltd. She focused on the importance of the decision, which extended the holding in Arthrex, Inc. v. Smith & Nephew, Inc., that administrative patent judges were improperly appointed in violation of the Appointments Clause, to ex parte proceedings.
Giralamo currently serves as the Articles Editor for the UIC Review of Intellectual Property Law and is a summer associate at McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP. Before attending law school, she obtained her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, accompanied by a minor in Aerospace Engineering, from Santa Clara University.
