First-Year student Brandon Villa was awarded the first Chicago Diversity Scholarship from law firm Barnes & Thornburg. Villa will be a summer associate this year at the firm’s Chicago office.
The Diversity Scholarship is open to first-year law students who demonstrate a commitment to contributing meaningfully to the diversity and inclusion goals of Barnes & Thornburg and the legal profession.
In applying for the scholarship, Villa worked with John Marshall’s Justice Margaret O’Mara Frossard, Associate Dean for Professionalism and Career Strategy, and Paul Johnson, Associate Director of John Marshall’s Career Services. Villa is also a member of Frossard’s Professionalism and Engagement Student Advisory Board.
“I am very excited and grateful for this opportunity,” Villa said. “If it were not for Justice Frossard and Paul, I would not have been able to achieve this feat.”
