Some baseball players start their pro careers in their teens. Rohde’s RailCats teammate Cristian Guerrero, for example, just turned 31 last week but is in his 14th pro season. Rohde, meanwhile, didn’t start playing for pay until he was 23, after a five-year college career (he redshirted one season because of an injury) split between the University of New Orleans and the University of Illinois.
