Nearly 700 graduates of the Law School have been rated “Super Lawyers” or “Rising Stars” for 2022 by SuperLawyers.com. Released annually, Super Lawyer’s lists recognize attorneys in more than 70 practice areas throughout the country who have attained substantial peer recognition and personal achievement in service to the public.

Super Lawyer’s 2022 lists name 382 “Super Lawyer” and 305 “Rising Star” alumni from Illinois, California, Ohio, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Georgia. No more than 5% of attorneys in a state are selected each year as Super Lawyers, and a maximum of 2.5% of attorneys, 40 years old or younger or who have been in practice for 10 years or fewer, are selected as a state’s Rising Stars.

“The Law School is incredibly proud, as we are each year, of the recognition earned by our Super Lawyers and Rising Stars,” say Lauren Prihoda Weiner (JD 2010), Executive Director of Alumni Relations & Development at the University of Illinois School of Law. “Their service to their clients and to the legal profession is an inspiration to current and future alumni, and UIC Law is honored to have played a part in their journey to success.”

Among those recognized as 2022 Super Lawyers, a select number of graduates were also named to top attorney lists in Illinois, Ohio, and Kentucky. David Abels (JD 1994), Miriam E. Cooper (JD 1987), Bradley M. Cosgrove (JD 2006), Adam G. Kelly (JD 2002), Beth F. McCormack (JD 1992), and Antonio Romanucci (JD 1985) were named among the Illinois Top 100. Miriam Cooper and Beth McCormack, along with Sandra Crawford (JD 1989) and Jill P. O’Brien (JD 1989), were also named to the Illinois Top 50 Women list. In Ohio, Phillip A.
