Ciara Shook has joined The John Marshall Law School as the new public relations coordinator in the Office of Public Relations and Advertising.
She will assist Marilyn Thomas, director of Public Relations and Advertising, in creating and placing marketing materials for print, broadcast and digital media, and writing press releases and feature stories. She also will seek and research media outlets and methods, as well as marketing outlets and methods, that best promote John Marshall and its Centers for Excellence, among other duties.
Having published material with The Columbia Chronicle and Gapers Block, Shook was able to transition from journalism to public relations quickly while writing features and releases in a temporary position as an assistant in Public Information.
Shook, a Chicago resident, received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Columbia College-Chicago.
