The first floor Student Commons opened to students on Monday, April 16, 2012. The new space fills the corner of State Street and Jackson Boulevard and is the first phase of The John Marshall Law School’s $10 million renovation project. The John Marshall Law School Board of Trustees expansion project includes the conversion of space on State Street, formerly occupied by a Walgreen’s Store, that now houses the Student Commons; a remodeling of the Student Lounge on the second floor of the State Street building, and the purchase and renovation of the building at 19 W. Jackson. Part of that space is being converted for the Veterans Legal Support Center & Clinic.
