Dan Lacy (JD ’10/LLM ’11) has joined The John Marshall Law School as the new disability accommodations coordinator in the office of Academic Services.
Lacy will communicate with disabled students and their doctors, and determine appropriate materials necessary for completing coursework. These needs are communicated to professors, and Lacy arranges items for students, which may range from ordering special textbooks with larger fonts, to coordinating a note-taker.
This job was an easy fit for Lacy, who had been handling disability accommodation claims at the Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) since March. He worked there as part of the graduate fellowship program coordinated by the Career Services Office. As an alumnus, Lacy has a strong grasp of the learning environments here at John Marshall, and is well suited to assist students with disabilities.
Before coming to John Marshall, Lacy received a bachelor’s degree in communications law from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Ind.
