Adjunct Professor Dan Cotter

Activities
On November 16, 2010, he became chair of the Lawyers LendA-Hand to Youth, a Sun-Times Judge Marovitz Program. He is serving his second year as treasurer of the Chicago Bar Foundation, and is serving as a member of the Board of Managers and treasurer of the Chicago Bar Association, and is secretary of The John Marshall Law School Alumni Association. He also serves on the board of directors of the Epilepsy Foundation Greater Chicago and the Monmouth College Board of Trustees.

On November 11, 2010, he presented at the PCI 2010 Insurance Company Ethical Conduct Compliance Seminar/Webinar. On November 9, 2010, he presented at the 2010 Insurance Forum.

He contributed two chapters to the recently published book, IICLE Illlinois Insurance Industry: Laws and Regulations.

Professor Mary Jean Dolan

Activities
On November 6, 2010, she moderated a panel on the “First Amendment & New Communications Systems,” at the Loyola University School of Law Constitutional Law Colloquium.

Publications
She recently posted a new article on SSRN, “P.S. Untold Stories and the Cross National Memorial,” (available at: https://www.ssrn.com/abstract=1697483) (a featured article on Legal Theory Blog). “P.S.” is a companion article to “The Cross Between Endorsement and History,” an invited symposium article published online recently in the Northwestern University Law Review Colloquy.

Professor Jason Kilborn

Activities
He was appointed a Scholar in Residence at the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) for the Fall 2011 semester. The ABI is the premier U.S. insolvency industry association, focused on research and education. It was founded in 1982 to provide Congress and the public with unbiased analysis of bankruptcy issues, and the ABI today is considered to be one of the largest multidisciplinary, non-partisan organizations dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency. He will be working on research and writing projects, legislative tracking and analysis, responding to media inquiries, educational programming, and
other ABI activities.

His work on behalf of the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Estonia Parliament was officially recognized during a November 2010 meeting of the Parliament. Kilborn had offered advice which the committee considered in reforming its personal insolvency law.

He was a guest presenter on “Introduction to Shari’a and Islamic Finance” on Nov. 17, for the Illinois Institute of Technology’s class on the History of the Middle East.

Professor Rogelio Lasso

Activities
On November 18, 2010, he delivered a presentation “The Malpractice Lawsuit: Process and Prevention” to approximately 400 physicians, nurses, and emergency personnel from the Advocate Health Care hospital system during its 7th Annual Advocate Trauma Symposium, at the Wyndham Lisle, in Lisle, Illinois.

Professor William Mock

Publications
He served as co-editor of the International Law in Review for the American Bar Association Section of International Law. He presented his work at the section’s fall meeting. The review, which is being published as a special issue of The International Lawyer, examines developments in more than 40 substantive areas of international law.

Professor Mark Wojcik

Activities
He was named the chair of the Membership and Outreach Committee of Scribes, the association of American legal writers. He and Northwestern University Professor Andrew Koppelman spoke on November 12, 2010 at a special seminar on recent litigation and legislative developments affecting same-sex marriage. The program was held at the Chicago law firm Wildman Harrold Allen & Dixon LLP.

He was a presenter at the American Bar Association Section of International Law fall meeting as a co-editor of the International Law Section’s International Law Year in Review project, a massive survey of developments in more than 40 substantive areas of international law. The review will be published as a special issue of The International Lawyer.
