Students of The John Marshall Law School carried flags as part of Illinois’ 3rd official U.S. Constitution and Citizenship Day Celebration at the Richard J. Daley Plaza on Sept. 14. Led by Secretary of State Jesse White, people from 35 countries were granted citizenship and were honored at the ceremony.
The John Marshall Law School marked Constitution Day with a celebratory cake. Constitution Day is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution. It is observed on Sept. 17, the day the U.S. Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution in 1787. Because that day was a Saturday, John Marshall moved its celebration to Sept. 19.
