Nine John Marshall Grads Named to Crain’s 2019 Notable Gen X Leaders in Law List

Nine graduates of The John Marshall Law School in Chicago have been selected for inclusion on Crain’s 2019 Notable Gen X Leaders in Law list. James B. Coughlan, Kevin Coyne, Gary L. Gassman, Tia C. Ghattas, Kristen E. Hudson, A. Jay Koehler, Tricia L. Meyer, Kerryann Haase Minton and Eileen M. Sethna were all recognized.

To qualify for the list, individuals needed to be nominated and accepted after a review by Crain’s editors. An honoree must be an attorney between the ages of 40 and 55 and be serving in a senior leadership role at his or her law firm.

James B. Coughlan, a 1991 LLM graduate, is a partner at Perkins Coie LLP. Coughlan practices litigation, intellectual property law, ITC litigation and patent litigation.

Kevin Coyne, a 2009 LLM graduate, is a principal at Chuhak & Tecson, P.C. He is leader of the firm’s 18-attorney real estate practice group.

Kristen E. Hudson, a 2003 JD graduate, is also a principal and general counsel at Chuhak & Tecson, P.C. She has experience in matters ranging from contract disputes, business torts, and fraud to the protection of trade secrets and intellectual property rights—not only in the courtroom, but also in a variety of arbitral forums.

Gary L. Gassman, a 1993 JD graduate, is an attorney at Cozen O’Connor. He focuses his practice in the areas of insurance coverage counseling and litigation and is co-chair of the firm’s Professional Liability Practice Group.

Tia C. Ghattas, a 1999 JD graduate, is also an attorney at Cozen O’Connor. She is a litigator and for a decade served as the Chicago office managing partner. She is also co-chair of the firm’s Transportation & Logistics Litigation Team.

A. Jay Koehler, 1991 JD graduate, is a senior partner at Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP. He represents regional, national and international organizations in construction, product liability, commercial, transportation and fire-and-explosion litigation throughout the U.S.

Tricia L. Meyer, a 2001 JD graduate, is the founder and managing attorney of Meyer Law. She has extensive transactional experience with technology, telecom and commercial agreements, as well as corporate, employment and intellectual property matters in the U.S. and abroad.

Kerryann Haase Minton, a 1996 JD graduate, is the managing partner of the Chicago office for Michael Best & Friedrich LLP. She is an experienced and effective litigation strategist, successfully defending clients in employment disputes at the federal and state levels.

Eileen M. Sethna, a 2002 JD graduate, is a partner in the Banking & Restructuring Group at Levenfield Pearlstein, LLP. She is a trusted adviser to banks, financial institutions, hedge funds, real estate investors and business owners.
