Everlyne Stephens and Jennifer Ifebi, second-year students at John Marshall, have been awarded the Cook County Bar Association Scholarship for their essays on legal activism in the context of inequalities in the criminal justice system. The students were honored at the Cook County Bar Association’s Black History Awards Reception. Ifebi was also awarded the Sandy Brown Memorial Scholarship from the National Black Law Students Association for her essay on discriminatory housing practices in light of the Supreme Court’s decision on Texas Dept. of Housing and Community Affairs v. Inclusive Communities Project, Inc.
