Alumnus Antonio Romanucci (JD ’85) visited with John Marshall students to discuss his experience in trying civil rights cases, focusing on his police misconduct work. Invited on behalf of the Pro Bono Clinic, Romanucci – principal and partner in Romanucci & Blandin, LLC – has successfully tried several civil cases involving catastrophic personal injuries, medical malpractice and more. Romanucci discussed some of the challenges of handling cases involving police, from gathering complicated evidence to properly establishing what is the use of “execessive force.” The dicussion was particularly relevant to Pro Bono students, who are actively involved in multiple cases representing prison inmates suing for civil rights violations.
