Adjunct Professor Roger MacDougall Elected President of National Association of Railroad Referees

Adjunct Professor Roger MacDougall was recently elected president of the National Association of Railroad Referees at the group’s annual conference in Chicago in September.

The nationwide body of 300 arbitrators works with federal regulators and clients from the railroads and unions to improve the railroad arbitration process. The association also sponsors the only annual educational conference in this area, which brings arbitrators and clients together. Railroad arbitration covers over 160,000 employees who typically bring over 5000 cases per year to arbitration.

MacDougall, president of ADR International, LLC, teaches arbitration law and alternative dispute resolution to JD and LLM students at John Marshall. He also has coaches arbitration and mediation student teams.
