Professor Ann Lousin
Activities
She was honored by the Illinois Press Association which presented her with a third place honor in the Best Legal Media Coverage category for her column “How the U.S. Constitution Caused the Civil War” which was published by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin.
Lousin also was recently recognized by The Illinois State Historical Society with a Certificate of Excellence Award for her regular Chicago Daily Law Bulletin column “Law and Public Issues.” She received her award at the society’s annual meeting.
William McGrath

Activities
The Illinois Press Association presented two awards to him for selected columns that appeared in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. In the Best Legal Media Coverage, McGrath received a first place award for “Should Tweets Get Copyright Protection?” The column also won third place for original column.
Professor Kathryn J. Kennedy
Activities
She presented a workshop entitled “How to Develop and then to Teach an Online Law Course” on June 25, 2012 at the Gonzaga University School of Law’s Institute for Law Teaching and Learning. The conference focused on the “Value of Variety” in teaching to law students with multiple learning styles. The workshops addressed innovative materials, alternative teaching methods, new technology, and ways to enhance student learning in all types of courses.
Professor Kim D. Chanbonpin
Activities
She is serving as a board member of the Legal Writing Institute (LWI). She will serve a four-year term through May 2016.
In May, she presented the paper “It’s a K?kou Thing: Toward a New Vocabulary of Anti-Subordination” at the annual Law & Society Meeting in Honolulu, Hawai`i.
Professor Chanbonpin was at Harvard Law School June 15 through 20, 2012, representing The John Marshall Law School at the 2012 Graduate Horizons program, a graduate admissions workshop for American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and First Nations students interested in applying to graduate school or professional school.

Activities
She participated in a roundtable program on law and religion at Harvard Law School June 21 and 22.
At the Fordham Law School Emerging Family Law Teachers Conference May 21 and 22, she presented “An Empirical Critique of Deciding Child Custody Based on Past Caretaking,” her work in progress.

Professor Dolan’s essay, “Cautious Contextualism,” was published in the June 2, 2012, issue of Virginia Law Review In Brief.
