Thelma Brooks Simon, 82, was the first woman appointed to a full-time faculty position at The John Marshall Law School who taught substantive legal issues to students. She began teaching in the early 70s, at a time when fewlaw schools accepted women on their faculty. Simon remembers her meeting with then John Marshall Dean Noble Lee, who gave her the opportunity to join the faculty.
A graduate of the University of Chicago School of Law, Simon was a law clerk for more than two decades for the Illinois Supreme Court.
