Ali Haleem, director of John Marshall’s Campus Safety & Security, has announced the appointment of two full-time staff members.
Investigator Charles “Charlie” Henson (left) has been working part-time at John Marshall after retiring from the Chicago Police Department (CPD) with 31 years of service. During his career Henson was a patrolman, tactical officer and field training officer; building security officer for the Police headquarters building; and worked the mass transit unit detail.
Before joining CPD, he worked for the police department in the Village of Justice, and at Oak Forest Hospital on the security detail. Henson has training in various specialties within law enforcement, including gangs, narcotics, family disputes and crowd control, as well as fire prevention, first aid and handling hazardous materials.
Life Safety Coordinator and Security Guard Rudy Garza (right) has more than 12 years experience working private security in the health care, law enforcement and public environments. Garza, who is fluent in Spanish, is certified in: Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI); JCAHO/OSHA Compliance; First Aid/CPR; International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety; and Law Enforcement Agencies Data System (LEADS).
