Julie Jagla has been named associate director of the Center for Tax Law and Employee Benefits at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
Jagla has more than 25 years of experience as an employee benefits attorney, consultant and plan administrator for corporate clients. She has both the legal experience of advising plans and clients and the practical experience of operating benefit programs in her previous position on the Benefits Committee for Hewitt Associates. In her most recent position, she was an assistant general counsel for Aon Hewitt, where, among other responsibilities, she worked with both product development and sales.
Previously, Jagla taught English at Hinsdale South High School. At Hewitt Associates, she developed a training curriculum, and taught and mentored several generations of associates. In addition, she spent 11 years as board member and officer of Hewitt Associates’ charitable foundation. She is a member of the Guild of the Chicago History Museum.
As associate director of the Center, Jagla will focus on student recruitment and advising; organizing Center programs and conferences; and matters related to curriculum.
“Julie comes to us with a unique background combining law, teaching, business and philanthropy,” said Professor Kathryn Kennedy, director of the Center. “We are thrilled that she is joining us.”
Jagla received a JD from Northwestern University School of Law, and a BS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
