The Will County Board has been short a member since September, but all 27 votes could be in play when next year’s budget comes up for a vote Thursday.
That’s because the board is expected to appoint attorney David Izzo to replace Laurie Smith (R-New Lenox), the former majority whip who resigned to move to Florida.
“I’m in for the long haul,” Izzo said. “It’s a great opportunity for me.”
