With all of the county’s 68 precincts reporting, Lazzari-Strasiser defeated Spangler in his run for a fifth term by a vote of 10,822 to 8,114. She will be the first woman to serve as Somerset County’s chief law enforcement officer.
“I started at St. Pete’s at 7 a.m. and ended at St. Pete’s at 8 p.m.,” she said. “I met all my three children, 18, 17 and 13, at our precinct in Quemahoning Township to vote with my 18-year-old. It was his first time voting.”
