James Shadid (JD ’83) featured
He has been a federal judge for just more than a year, but now James Shadid is the chief judge of the 46-county Central District of Illinois.
In a low-key, five-minute ceremony before employees at Peoria’s federal courthouse, Shadid, 55, was given the oath Monday by U.S. District Judge Michael P. McCuskey, who had been chief judge since 2005.
