Two outstanding students, Lisa Sterba and Julie Tenuto, have been selected recipients of the Lupel & Amari Scholarship.
Both Sterba and Tenuto are second-year students. The scholarship was established by Leonard Amari (JD ’68), president of The John Marshall Law School Board of Trustees, and Warren Lupel (JD ’68) a member of the board. The two created the endowed scholarship in memory of their parents, Joseph and Katherine Amari and Frank and Jeanne Lupel, to support the efforts of current John Marshall students with excellent academic records who show a financial need.
Sterba received a BA degree in communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is a member of Phi Delta Phi Legal Honors Society and the Justinian Society at John Marshall. She is a law clerk at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office at the Fifth District Courthouse in Bridgeview.
Sterba completed an externship with Justice Maureen Connors of the Illinois Appellate Court, and was a law clerk at Corboy & Demetrio. While still in college, she worked as a legal intern for the Law Offices of Barrett & Stramek in Palos Heights.
Tenuto received a BS degree in applied mathematical economics from Marquette University. She serves as associate justice on the Moot Court Honors Board and serves on The John Marshall Law Review.
Tenuto is working as a law clerk at Wiedner & McAuliffe.
