The John Marshall Law School welcomes alumnus Matthew Steward (JD ’07) as assistant director of the Office of Alumni Relations.
Steward will be working with Sherri Berendt, director of Alumni Relations, on upcoming events and activities focused around the Alumni Association Board of Directors. He will have direct responsibility for Young Alumni Council programs, and increasing student engagement with the office. He recently worked at CBIZ Special Risk as a regional advocate, in which he handled various marketing tasks.
After graduating from John Marshall, Steward was a business manager for the Newman Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). He received a bachelor of arts in political science from UIC.
“I like to be an active alumnus at each of my schools, and I’m glad to be back at John Marshall,” Steward said.
Steward, who went through the joint degree program that John Marshall offers with Dominican University, graduated with a JD and an MBA in 2007. While at John Marshall, Steward was involved in various activities including Corporate Law Association, American Bar Association, Student Bar Association, Student Ambassadors and Phi Alpha Delta, among others. He received the Academic Merit Scholarship and the Allen H. Schwartz Scholarship as a John Marshall student.
