In the third annual ranking of law school homepages, The John Marshall Law School moved up 15 positions from the previous year and tied with the University of Chicago Law School for 28th place.
To arrive at the rankings, 24 distinct elements were assessed across three broad categories: 1) design patterns and metadata; 2) accessibility and validation; and 3) marketing and communications. The annual rankings are compiled by Roger V. Skalbeck, associate law librarian for Electronic Resources & Services, Georgetown Law Library.
Homepages of Chicago’s other law schools were 53rd for DePaul College of Law; 81st for Northwestern University School of Law; 132nd for Chicago-Kent College of Law; and 136th for Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
During 2011, John Marshall’s website was managed by Andrew Walker and Michael Huggins in the Office of Institutional Affairs. Tori Kirk was the designer who made most of the improvements to the homepage. Walker and Kirk have subsequently left to pursue other opportunities. Huggins is director of Social Media and web editor and is serving as interim website manager.
