Alumnus Joe Napoli (JD ’64) featured:
Napoli played baseball at Bradley from 1957-60 and led the nation in hitting his senior year with a .490 batting average. A third baseman, he was named first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference that season. His lifetime batting average of .392 still stands as the school’s all-time best. But he turned down tryout offers with major-league teams and enrolled in John Marshall law school in Chicago.
Napoli received his law degree in 1964 and returned to Peoria, joining the Davis Morgan law firm and teaching law courses at Bradley. Napoli went into private practice four years later, but continued to teach at BU until 1989.
