The Women’s Bar Foundation has awarded UIC John Marshall students Olaide Adeniran and Madison Cogan scholarship awards in recognition of their extraordinary accomplishments in the legal field.
Olaide Adeniran, a third-year student at UIC John Marshall, was the receipient of a $10,000 scholarship. Adeniran is the current President of the Black Law Student Association. Adeniran was presented her award by one of her teachers and mentors, Professor Samuel V. Jones.
Madison Cogan, also a third-year student, was the recipient of a $2,500 scholarship. She is the current President of UIC John Marshall’s Women’s Law Caucus.
The awards were presented at the annual Women’s Bar Foundation Scholarship Luncheon held on October 10 at the Metropolitan Club. Cook County State’s Attorney Kimberly Foxx was the keynote speaker.
The Women’s Bar Foundation was established in 1966 for the purpose of providing “scholarships, awards or other financial aid for the study of law in accredited law schools in the State of Illinois to deserving and qualified women.”
